An Amazing Experience
by Bob Tomlinson
I was recently asked to do a “Live” performance for the Senior Community at Christ’s Home in Warminster, PA. I found this to be very interesting since the entire planet is in lock-down due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. The agency who employs me, Mo Better Entertainment informed me that I would be performing on a flatbed trailer outside of the community in a parade-style fashion. The trailer would be pulled by a pickup truck equipped with a generator allowing me to use my PA system. It was actually the perfect concept. Keeping a very safe distance from the residents and bringing them music from their past to their doorsteps. The day was chilly, just above 50 degrees. We made approximately ten stops throughout the community where I would play 2 or 3 songs per stop. It took a few minutes for my hands to warm up to my guitar, but once the warmed up, all was good. The residents were absolutely wonderful! They stepped out of their homes wearing their required masks. Some held up signs and many danced. I could hear them thank me and the fantastic staff of Christ’s Home who entertained the residents and handed out candy. The sun came out and the day turned out to be perfect. It was such a joy to entertain all these wonderful people and an experience that I’ll always remember. I was totally honored and privileged to be part of this incredible day!
