Dían aka Sky Henry is an international recording artist, model and producer. A spicy blend of cultures. She began singing at the tender age of 3. Her first public singing performance to a 2,000 strong gospel congregation was, “Go Tell it On the Mountain”, and she has been doing just that ever since. Dián, grew up in Virginia and moved to the Virgin Islands where she got exposed to a wondrous mix of musical styles and as a young child had the opportunity to perform with Jazz trumpet legend Dizzy Gillespie. She became a jazz prodigy by scatting lots of songs and performing as a child at the annual Kool Jazz festival on a riverboat in the middle of Magen’s Bay USVI. From that riverboat to The Reichhold Center for the Arts, Selected Repos in Kyoto Japan, Taste of Soul festival in Los Angeles, and the Long Beach Jazz Festival, Dián is developing quite the international Jazz audience. She finds performing & recording, with legends, is always an honor. The list includes R&B royalty Stevie Wonder, Jazz legends Stanley Clarke, Chick Correa, Tito Puente, Ronnie Laws, Najee, Michael Hoppé, Henry Franklin, Wilton Felder, Barbara Morrison, Al Williams (of Birdland West & the Long Beach Jazz Festival fame), to Gospel for Reverend Dr. Della Reese, singing and dancing with the Opus 1 Big Band & Broadway star Obba Babbatunde. . .the list goes on. Thespian is added to her talent laden credentials. She plays Sarah Vaughn in the Award Winning Play “Chicago Club Rumboogie www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tj4vIGgmnC8. Dián is a Virgo and shares her day with Cannonball Aderly, Prince Harry of Wales, Tommy Lee Jones and Oliver Stone. Sky’s newest Jazz album “After OZ” showcases her phenomenal vocal range and arrangement skills.
