Michael “Mikey B” Borowski has been entertaining audiences both locally and nationally for decades. He started playing the piano at 4 years old, and began composing and performing music just short of his 7th birthday. Michael studied classical music composition and piano performance at Temple University. During his college years, Michael played numerous concerts, and had the honor of performing at the historic Academy Of Music in Philadelphia. Michael’s influences include, but not limited to, Bruce Hornsby, George Winston, John Medeski, Ludwig van Beethoven, and of course, Billy Joel. His classical background mixed with his love of rock and folk music, helped create the unique sound he is known for today.
Michael was the keyboard player for Splintered Sunlight from 2001-2014. It was with this band where he found his musical home in The Ardmore Music Hall. Last June, Michael was a part of AMH’s Unlimited Devotion, performing with John Kadlecik, Jay Lane, Haley Jane, Reed Mathis, and Dan “Lebo” Lebowitz. Michael currently tours with Nashville recording artist, Mike MiZ.
Michael credits his mother for giving him the gift of music. After she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2007, Michael has dedicated much of time and talents to help raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s research in the ongoing effort to find a cure.
